Technical Design Assistant

This role supports the Bags and Footwear Designers working on the mainline collection up to SMS stage and the Design Team in general. It suits a keen, calm, flexible and organised team player who loves the brand and has 1 year's credible experience working in a Design Team. You will have responsibility for internal presentation documents, Large and small Leathergoods and Footwear, as well as helping spec the mainline Leathergoods collection in InDesign and Illustrator to communicate and develop concepts and the complete collection.

Essential experience and skills required:

  • Educated to 2.1 degree level or equivalent in Fashion Accessories, preferably Leathergoods
  • Advanced knowledge of Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and Microsoft packages.
  • Strong freehand sketching.
  • Excellent presentation and planning skills.
  • The ability to think creatively, with a strong understanding of materials and working with colour and print.
  • Credible experience working in a design environment, working with leather bags and small leather goods.
  • Experience of specc'ing from initial concept through to production.
  • A strong technical knowledge and ability to create technical diagrams, to allow completion of full specification under tight deadlines.
