What else will you find in London's quirky East End?

Shoreditch's iconic Brick Lane is home to street art and market stalls (on a Sunday). It's also a vintage clothes lover's haven and round the back of the Truman Brewery, some of the best street art can be found, including Banksy's pink car. At night, its many traditional Indian restaurants will try and lure you in for a curry.

Spitalfields Market is also a great spot to buy products from independent contemporary designers as well as vintage clothing. Also check out Emin International, Tracey Emin's very own mini gallery which sells a selection of her prints and works.

For the classic British pub experience, stop off at the Ten Bells next door to Spitalfields. A popular watering hole for many Londoners, it features heavily in the Jack the Ripper trail and its restaurant Upstairs offers incredible dishes by acclaimed chef collective, the Young Turks.

One of Shoreditch's hidden gems for night owls is Nightjar. Beneath a blink-and-you'll-miss-it entrance, lies a Prohibition-style speakeasy with a touch of old-school glamour about it. The bartenders here know how to make a good cocktail and their live music nights add to the allure.
