Lulu Guinness OBE, has been awarded with an Honorary Doctorate by University of the Arts London at London College of Fashion’s graduation ceremony. Each year University of the Arts London, of which the London College of Fashion is part of, awards individuals it considers to have made considerable contributions to creative and cultural life in the UK and Internationally.
Lulu has a long standing relationship with the London College of Fashion, including creating a Scholarship programme to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the brand for the MA Artefact at Cordwainers. She is passionate about supporting young design students and encouraging design talent.
Lulu says of the award:
‘I am extremely grateful to the London College of Fashion for awarding me with this honorary doctorate, I did not have a formal training in handbag design so this makes this extra special.’
In receiving the accolade Lulu Guinness joins an impressive list of fashions finest to be honoured by the University including Giorgio Armani, Alexander McQueen, Suzy Menkes OBE and Harold Tillman.
