#CALIFUK City Guide: LA vs LDN

In celebration of the launch of Flaunt Magazine's fictional kingdom #CALIFUK - a mashup of the UK and LA - and our exclusive 'London' and 'Los Angeles' clutches that pay homage to the dream city, we've created this quick travel guide to the best beaches, parks, eats and nightlife spots. It's up to you to decide which you prefer...

LA - Venice Beach

Far from just a beach, this famous stretch of sand has long been a hub for skaters, musicians, fitness freaks and good times. The home of Baywatch is famous in its own right for its starring role in countless films and TV shows. Grab an iced coffee, catch some rays, then walk along the promenade for some bodybuilder spotting.

UK - Burton Bradstock

You might think that Los Angeles is naturally the front runner here, but Britain can more than hold its own when it comes to sandy shores – provided the weather’s nice. Framing white cliffs, the dreamy secluded sandy shoreline of Burton Bradstock is the perfect place to have a stay-cation or a weekend evening stroll.

LA - Griffith Park

A leafy but urban oasis, Take time out from hiking around the sprawling site to visit the Griffith’s Observatory, which featured in Rebel without a cause, and ogle at the Hollywood sign. There’s also Walt Disney’s old shed and archaic cages at the Old Zoo.

UK - Hyde Park

With a lake, an art gallery and enough space to host some of the best names in the music industry – this park truly has it all.

Tasty health food is the call of order in Los Angeles. From juices to excellent Korean food and fresh sushi and not forgetting delicious salads - the city is a full of nourishing and good-for-you eats. If you are tempted by something slightly naughtier, then you're still in the right place. The US is the home of some of the best burgers ever made, In'N'Out and Five Guys are up there with the greats...

We do meat and potatoes like nobody else (fish and chips, bangers and mash anyone?). We're also home to some of the best chefs in the world, Nigella, Gordon and Jamie to name a few.

LA - Chateau Marmont's Bar Marmont

Henry's is a the sister club of Bootsy Bellows and is located in Beverly Boulevard, West Hollywood. The celeb favourite haunt promises a decadent nightlife experience and features live performances. For a slice of Hollywood history, head to Chateau Marmont’s Bar Marmont, where F Scott Fitzgerald famously produced work.

UK - The Box

This Soho club features cabaret shows and mimics its New York counterpart, earning its reputation as 'the most raucous show in town'. It has built up an enviable clientele since its opening, including Rihanna.
