What’s New…Guy Bourdin

We’ve been eagerly awaiting its arrival at LGHQ and this week finally saw Somerset House open its doors to the ‘Guy Bourdin: Image Maker’ exhibition. One of the most influential fashion photographers of our time, Bourdin’s career took off when he became a photographer for Vogue Paris in 1950s, starting his transformation of the fashion photography world by subverting the norm and challenging the traditional face of ‘beauty’.

His work was viewed as a radical change from the usual imagery found within both editorial and advertisements, with his photography considered provocative and shocking. It’s this distinct style of visual story-telling that has since become a contemporary source of inspiration.
