Each season we will partner with one of our favourite female photographers to document a key Lulu Guinness bag in our signature ‘Lulu’ red. We will leave the narrative of the imagery to them, creating an ongoing conversation between Lulu Guinness and the artistic community we work alongside.
For AW19, we approached British-Canadian photographer Lorena Lohr. Known for her work documenting the distinct character of her surroundings in the American Southwest, Lorena has published a number of limited edition artist’s books and held exhibitions around the world.
Our creative director David Hogdson first discovered her work in London’s Cob Gallery: “I had wanted to work with Lorena for a long time. I love the colours she captures in her photographs and had bought one of her books before I even started at Lulu”, he said. “She was the first person that came to mind when I started to think about photographers to collaborate with. When I was looking through her book I could just imagine our red Queenie bag popping up, it seemed to fit in so perfectly with her colours.”
For the shoot, Lorena took our red Queenie - a new style for the season - on a road trip with her through the desert in Spain. See what they got up to below.
