Meet Lily Of The Valley

Inspired by the archive, Lily Of The Valley is Lulu’s latest flower basket, with a special link to Blenheim Palace

Blending fashion and art, and always with signature wit, our newest flower basket, Lily of the Valley brings together two of Lulu’s biggest loves – flowers and pearls.

The woven basket is enveloped in luxurious Moire satin, available in Black or Ivory, with the distinctive ‘bell’ petals created with imitation pearls and fabric leaves. Not your usual occasion bag, it’s the ultimate conversation piece – ideal for wedding season if you’re seated next to somebody you don’t know!

The inspiration for this bag came from the archive. It first featured in SS04, originally named 'Lily of the Valley Baby Florist'. Nodding to its predecessor, the interior of the SS24 version features a custom-made label 'Inspired by the Archive' in Lulu's handwriting.

Lily of the Valley is also taking a starring role at the Icons of British Fashion exhibition at Blenheim Palace with a special one-off version inspired by an image Lulu found of an ornament, then crafted entirely from shiny brass and fresh water pearls by the artist Jess Wheeler. “A symbol of the arrival of spring, love and luck”, as she puts it. Whilst Lulu describes Jess’s creation as “one of the highlights of the exhibition…I’m thrilled with it!

Pearls are an important component of Lulu’s designs over the years and particularly for the Blenheim exhibition with the connection to the Duchess of Marlborough, Consuelo Vanderbilt who was known for her love of pearls. It really is the season for this special pearl-adorned bag with a special story.
